The School Eco Council met for the first time this term.

We went over the targets from the action plan 2013/14.

Energy –To ask Mr Jones the caretaker to help us get readings for the gas/ electricity and also to see how much electric we have made with the solar panels. Also now the weather is changing to check all doors are closed at playtimes when the heating goes on and make sure all computer monitors are turned off too. But to make sure the colour stickers on the lights are being used properly.

Recycling

The council all agreed that the recycling is going well but it would be nice to show all the pupils how to use the bins correctly.

Finley- It works because we have the right bins for recycling everywhere.

Jamie- It’s concerning because the juniors sandwich eaters drop rubbish at lunchtimes.

Flynn- Adults and children should be responsible for their own rubbish.

Lowri- The teachers encourage all of us to recycle.

New target- Tom would like to ask parents to help with donations of plants around the school to make sure we stay green.

When will the new outdoor classroom will be built soon.

We have a WWF walk to school with the council members and will help Mr Jones to do a service explaining why we are walking to school.

Meeting ended 2.20pm next eco council meeting 7 November.
