| A | is for ACTING. We have a Christmas play every year and the acting is of a very high standard. |
| A | is for an ACE school. I love going to school. |
| A | is for ASSEMBLY. Each morning at ten past nine we meet for an assembly in the school hall. Mr Jones reads us a story and we sing and pray to God. |
| A | is for ACHIEVEMENT. Our school help us achieve our best. |
| A | is for ARITHMETIC. Every morning we do arithmetic. |
| A | is for AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES. The school has many different activities. All our after school activities last an hour. We have several of these clubs. Cookery, creative dance, French, football, netball, rugby and Urdd. |
| A | is for ABSOLUTELY BRILL. Our school is absolutely brilliant. |
| A | is for ANIMALS. We have lots of tropical animals at our school. We help Mr Jones feed and care for them. |
| A | is for AWARDS. We get a Headteachers award when we do good work. |
| A | is for ASK. If there is anything bothering you just ask someone. |
| B | is for BUTTERFLY GARDEN. We have a butterfly garden in our school. It has a pond and we often have our lunch there in the Summer. |
| B | is for BEGINNING. The school day begins at 9.00am |
| B | is for BOOKS. The school has a wide range of books for all ages. We keep all the non fiction books in the school library which is organised in the dewey system. |
| B | is for BUILDING. The school is a new building that is very neat looking but no longer big enough for the amount of pupils attending. It is a very popular school which needs more cl;assrooms. |
| B | is for BRILLIANT. Ysgol San Siôr is brilliant. |
| B | is for BIRD WATCHING CLUB. We sometimes go to the local R.S.P.B. reserve to look at the birds. |
| B | is for BIRD TABLE. We have a bird table at our school which attracts many interesting types of birds and also the grey squirrels! |

is for bell. We have a loud bell which will ring to tell us to go in to work or out to play. |
| B | is for BAT BOXES. We have made several bat boxes and put them up around the school to attract bats. |
| B | is for BREAK. Break is where you catch up on all the gossip and eat and drink your goodies. |
| B | is for BIN. We have lots of bins around to make sure the litter doesnt make the school and the planet doesnt become untidy. |
| C | is for CHONGOLOLO. We have thirteen chongololos at our school along with a number of other animals. What are chongololos? I hear you ask. Well chongololos are giant African millipedes and they live in a very warm and very damp aquarium. |
| C | is for COOKS. The cooks are very friendly. The cook is called Mrs Bassett and the assistant cook is called Val. |
| C | is for CRICKET . In the summer months we have a school Cricket team and play other local schools. |
| C | is for CRICKETS. We have 500 crickets which we feed to the ire bellied toads. |

is for COMPUTERS. We have 12 computers around the school. |
| C | is for CLASSROOMS. We have six classrooms. Each classroom has a name: Conwy, Penrhyn, Seiriol, Mostyn, Gogarth and Enlli. |
| C | is for CCTV. The school has CCTV cameras as security. |
| C | is for CHURCH. We are a Church Aided School and every month we take family service at St. Georges Church. |

| C | is for CHURCH WALKS. Church Walks is the first line of our address. |
| is for CHILDREN. We have 185 children at our school. | |
| C | is for CHESS. We have a chess club at the school. |
| D | is for DEATHS HEAD HAWK MOTH. Mr Jones bought 40 eggs and so far 7 have hatched. They came from North Africa. They have a pattern on their backs which look like a skull and cross bones and they squeak like mice when you touch them. |
| D | is for . The food is different every day. The infants have their dinner first at 12.00noon. While the infants are eating their dinner the juniors are outside playing on the playground. Then at 12.30pm the bell rings and the juniors line up and then go in to have their dinner. The infants then have their play time.When the juniors have had their dinner they go outside and have another short playtime untill the bell goes for the afternoon lessons at 1.00pm. |
| D | is for DRAGONFLY POND. We have a shallow dragonfly pond in the Insect Garden and it attracts lots of wildlife. |
| D | is for DRAGON. Our school newspaper is named after the dragon that Saint George slayed in the legend. |
| D | is for DINNER LADIES that serve delicious food and sometimes give us seconds! |
| D | is for DEPUTY. The deputy headteacher is called Mrs Jones. She also teaches Dosbarth Penrhyn. |
| D | is for DIGITAL CAMERA. We now have a digital camera. We can take photographs and put them onto our web site. |

e-mail address is cyf1@santsior.conwy.sch.uk Why not write to us? We send and receive messages from all over the world. We have recently sent and received e-mails from our link schools in South Africa and Nepal. |
| E | is for EDUCATION. Ysgol San Siôr aims to give everyone the best education. |
| E | is for ENLLI. Enlli is the name of the top class. It is also the Welsh name for Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli) where a thousand saints are said to be buried. Each year year 6 make a pilgrimage to Bardsey Island off the Lleyn Peninsula. |
| E | is for ENTERTAINMENT. We put on very good plays. |
| E | is for EXERCISE. The children get much exercise. The school field is used as much as possible. |
| E | is for EXCURSIONS. We go on many educational excursions. |
| F | is for FIRE DRILL.If the fire bell goes off we walk very quickly to the car park. |
| F | is for FANTASTIC TEACHERS. All the teachers are kind. |

is for FOOTBALL. Our school has a football team which competes against other local teams. We have football practice on Mondays after school. Some of the boys are going to play in a football tournament in Wormhout in France in May.They will learn about the history of Llandudnos twin town. |
| F | is for FAIRS. We have a Summer Fair and a Christmas Fair where we raise funds for the school. |
| F | is for FANTASTIC SCHOOL. The school does nice things and makes learning fun. |
| F | is for FISH. We have some goldfish in our foyer. |
| F | is for FIELD. Across the road is the school field where we go and play. |
| F | is for FOYER. The foyer is where all the animals are kept and sometimes we work there. The computer which is connected to the internet is here. |
| F | is for FUNDRAISING. Our school does lots of things to raise money to buy things like books, computer equipment etc. We do lots of different things to raise money. We have auctions, raffles, fairs, treasure hunts, quizes, we can even throw wet sponges at the headmaster (that is fun!) |
| F | is for FRENCH. We have a French club after school on Tuesdays called Aprecole. |
| F | is for FIRE BELLIED TOADS. We have six fire bellied toads at the school. |
| F | is for FORMAL GARDEN. This is the garden which is full of lovely flowers and shrubs. We have an outdoor chess board here, some benches and a shed. Each year the garden is highly commended by Llandudno in Bloom competition. |
| G | is for GOGARTH.This is this is the name of one of our classrooms. |
| G | is for GARDENS. In our school we have 3 three gardens. The Butterfly Garden, the Formal Garden and the Insect Garden. The formal garden is full of lovely flowers and we have a compost bin here. The insect garden and butterfly garden are totally different. We have made a nature trail around the butterfly garden. We lock these gardens as they both have ponds and little children could fall in. In our gardening club we tidy up and plant more plants and trees. We also have a litter bug club and we go around the school grounds with litter grabbers. Most of the litter is blown into the school grounds from the town. |

| H | is for HEADMASTER. We have a great headteacher called Mr Jones. He is very strict but fair . He does a lot of nice things for the school. He is also quite trendy and drives an MG sports car, has a bald patch, is mad over insects and wears butterfly ties! |
| H | is for HELP. The teachers give us lots of this. |
| H | is for HOMEWORK. We have two pieces of homework each week. We normally get the homework on a Monday and it needs to be handed in on the Friday. We also have spellings and tables to learn. We also have to take our reading books home every evening. |
| H | is for HALL. The hall is where we have assembly every morning, where we eat our dinners and have physical educatuion lessons. |
| H | is for HOLIDAY. Time to relax! |
| H | is for HISTORY. We go on many history excursions to places like Penrhyn Castle or Chirk Castle where we dress up in olden day clothes. |
| I | is for INTERNET. We have access to the internet at our school on the computer in the foyer. It is very useful. |
| I | is for INSECTS. We have many tropical insects in the school foyer from all over the world housed in warm aquaria. |

is for INFANTS. Our infants classes are Nursery, Reception Year 1 and 2. Mrs Lewis teaches nursery and reception. Mrs Jones teaches reception and year 1 and another Mrs Jones teaches year 2. The infants go home earlier than the juniors, they go home atr 3.15pm. |
| J | is for JUNGLE NYMPH. At our school we have some jungle nymphs.The welsh name for jungle nymph is pry pric heglog. The jungle nymph is from Malaysia and is one of the heaviest insects in the world. When you hold it , it makes a rasping noise with its wings and it tries to kick you. |
| J | is for the JOKES we say at playtime. A man walks into a butchers shop."Have you got sheeps feet?" he asks. The butcher says yes. The man says, "Well, put some shoes on and no one will notice!" HA HA HA |
| J | is for JESUS CHRIST. Our school is a Church School and we learn a lot about Jesus and God. |
| J | is for JANITOR. Mr Charlie is our janitor. He takes care of our school. |
| J | is for JUNIORS. Our junior classes are called Mostyn (years 3 & 4), Gogarth (years 4 & 5) and Enlli (years 5 & 6). Mrs Mills teaches in Dosbarth Mostyn. Mrs Owens teaches in Dosbarth Gogarth and Mrs Jones teaches in Dosbarth Enlli. Mr Jones (the Headteacher) also teaches Dosbarth Enlli. The juniors go home at 3.30pm while the infants go home at 3.15pm. |
| J | is for JUMPER. Our school jumper is grey and has the schools logo embroidered on it. |
| J | is for JONES. We have 4 Mrs Jones and one Mr Jones at our school! |
| J | is for JUDAISM. Year 5 and 6 study Judaism at our school and when they do they visit the synagogue in Church Walks. |
| J | is for JULY. In July we break up fort our long summer holidays. We have six weeks holiday at this time of year. We we go back to the school in September we start in a new school year while last years six go on to secondary school. |
| K | is for KEEN. We are all keen to do are work(NOT!!) |
| K | is for KINDNESS. We do not allow bullying in our school. |
| K | is for KITCHEN. Our school has its own kitchen where the cooks prepare our lunch. |

| K | is for KIWI. We went on a school trip to Wembley Stadium to see a rugby match Wales versus New Zealand |
| K | is for KIT. We have a yellow and blach rugby kit and a blue and black football and netball kit. |

| L | is for LUNCH. The infants have their lunch at 12.00 while the juniors have their lunch at 12.30pm. |
| L | is for LANGUAGES. We speak two different languages at oue school. We mainly speak English but we do speak some Welsh. We also have a French club. |
| L | is for LEARNING. Learning is something you do every day and my mum says the day you do not learn something new is a day lost. |
| M | is for MET STATION.We have a met station and every day some children write down the results. |
| M | is for MATHS. We do maths every day. YUK! (one childs opinion) |
| M | is for MATHS. We have maths every morning. Maths is my favourite subject. (another childs opinion) |
| M | is for MOSTYN. Mostyn is the name of year 3/4 class. |
| N | is for NEWSPAPER. We have our own school newspaper which is called the Red Dragon. The newspaper tells you what has happened in the school during the term We have lots of exciting news in our school newspaper. |
| N | is for NURSERY. We have a nursery class in the mornings and afternoons. |

is for NETBALL. Our school has its own netball team which practice after school on Thursdays. |
| O | is for OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD.Every year the children fill a shoebox with toys and send them to a poor country. |

is for PETS.We have a lot of pets including Jungle Nymphs,Maclays Spectres,Giant Spiny Stick Insects,Fire Bellied Toads,Chongololos and Deaths Head Hawk Moths. |
| P | is for PIANO. We have two teachers who play the piano at our school. |
| P | is for PREFECTS. Prefects are nominated every year to be helpful and kind to other pupils. All prefects are generally in year 6. |
| P | is for PLAYTIME. We have four playtimes if you arrive at the school before 9.00am but if not then you only have three. The first playtime is at 10.30am until 10.50am. We ahve playtime before and after our dinner and another between 2.15-2.30pm. |
| P | is for PANTOMIME. Last year we performed a pantomime. It was called Dick Whittington and raised over £2000. This year our pantomime is called Humpty Dumpty. |
| Q | is for QUANTITY.There is a high quantity of children in our school. |
| Q | is for QUEUING. We have to queue after each play time to get back to class. |
| Q | is for QUESTIONS. All day long the teachers have to answer lots of questions their pupils ask them. |

| R | is for RUGBY. Our school has one of the best, if not the best rugby team. They are known as the San Siôr wasps as they wear yellow and black tops. |

is for SANDWICHES. Some people prefer to eat sandwiches at dinner times. |
| S | is for STICK INSECTS. We have several different types of stick insects. We have jungle nymphs from Malaysia, maclays specre from Australia, giant spiny stick insects from Ecuador, trinidad logs from Trinidad, indian sticks from India, pink-winged sticks from Madagascar, thorny devils and lime green sticks insects. They are kept in a tall aquarium in the foyer. When the stick insects are young they escape very easily! |
| S | is for SATS. Every year in May year 2 and year 6 are tested. These tests are called SATS. |

is for SWIMMING. We go swimming every week. Sometimes only children who cannot swim are allowed to go to the swimming pool. |
| S | is for SECURITY. We have an excellent security system at our school. We have a door access system which means that nobody can just walk into the school. All the entrances are covered by CCTV cameras. When we go onto the school field the teachers can make the school alarm go off in an emergency. |
| S | is for STAINED GLASS WINDOW. In our foyer, above the front door, we have a stained glass window depicting St George slaying the dragon. |
| T | is for TERM.We have 3 long terms. |

| T | is for TEACHERS. We are lucky to have very nice teachers at Ysgol San Siôr. |
| U | is for UNDERSTANDING.The teachers are very understanding. |
| U | is for UNIFORM. We all wear a school uniform. We have a summer uniform and a winter unifom. The uniform consists of a grey jumper, skirt or trousers, white shirt and a red tie. In the summer the boys dont have to wear a tie and can wear a white polo shirt while the girls wear summer dresses. |
| U | is for URDD. Urdd is a Welsh youth club which meets fortnightly at the school. |
| V | is for VICAR.There is a vicar who comes to our school very often. |
