At Ysgol San Sior we like to think of ourselves as a listening school and to prove it we invite you to have your say. Once a question is placed online you have two weeks to vote.

ONLINE homework. It's not such a daft poll! We are asking if YOUR CHILD has regular access to the internet...... Also paper slips have been sent to each family in the Juniors. Year 6 will analyze all the returns in Tuesday's maths lesson and will calculate percentages, compare the results and discuss why there may be variations.....

Web Poll 2

Should the tie still be a part of our school uniform?

I received a telephone call from the Western Mail today. He knew our pupils wear a tie as part of the school uniform. He told me that some secondary schools are losing the tie as part of their uniform. He wanted to know my opinion. I believe the uniform is important, it shows that the children belong to the school community and I hope the children at our school wear the San Sior uniform with some pride. During the summer our children may wear a polo shirt and gingham dresses are worn by some of the girls and a tie need not be worn. At other times a shirt and tie is worn for the school day. What is your opinion? Please let us know......

Thank you

Web Poll 1

Should our children be allowed to watch a film / educational programme at dinner time?

Background: Our dinner hall is too small. Fortunately we have secured funding to extend the hall over the coming months. Noise is a big issue as you can imagine with up to 120 children sitting in the hall eating their dinner. In good weather we allow some of the older children to sit on picnic benches located behind the hall.

We have recently purchased a projector and on occasion project a film or educational programme on the large screen in the hall while the children are having their lunch. We have noticed that the level of noise reduces considerably when the film is on, allowing the children to eat their food in a quieter more pleasant environment. (please note that the supervisors are mindful of the fact that the children need to be eating during this half hour!!) The projector is only used on one day of the week.

I understand that some parents may not agree with this practice and here is an opportunity for you to have your say on the matter.

Thank you
