A Day In
the Life of the World. We wrote to many countries around the
world asking them to answer the same questions at the same time.
We wanted to discover if people did the same things, ate the
same things liked the
same things and worried about the same things..... Here are our
results..... We will develop this project in the coming weeks. |
|
South African Link |
An exciting project between two school
6185.87 miles apart. One
in Llandudno, Wales in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in George,
South Africa in the Southern Hemisphere. |
|
Once upon a
time.. |
Here we have 6 stories being
written at the same time by six schools in Norway, Barcelona, Sardinia,
Netherlands and Wales.
 |
|
Flat Fred |
The idea of the project is to find out what type of things
different people do in their jobs. How would a week in the life of a pop
star be different
to a week in the life of, say, a politician, or a policeman or a nurse? |
|
Adverts |
Here we
manipulate images to create wacky advertisements! We link with schools in Norway, Catalonia, Italy, Germany and Holland. But anyone can join in! |
Global Story |
Click here for the global story.
We start a story and invite other schools around the world to add a chapter. Journey with
Chips as he visits different countries If you would like to take part in the next global
story please e-mail us. |
Around the World in 80 Days
Preconceptions |
This is a story about Explorer
Fred who has to visit as many different countries as he can in 80 days. But he is no
ordinary explorer. In his diary he writes down everything he knows (or thinks he knows!)
about the country he visits. It's actually what we think we know about the country!
We would be grateful if the partner schhols corrects him when he arrives. I suppose that
there is an opportunity to offend here with our ignorance, so accept our sincerest
apologies before we start. Then the explorer can do something in the country he visits
(you decide) like visit an important landmark or perhaps go for a meal, anything really.
It's up to you. Then send him back to us via e-mail with your preconceptions of Wales and
we will put his travels on the web site before sending him off somewhere else. If you
would like to take part please e-mail us. |

Spring
&
Migration

Click the birdie! |
Would
you like to take part in our next project. We have joined forces with schools across
Europe to help us to answer the following questions:
- Does Spring happen at the same time across Europe? We send you some spring flowering
bulbs (for free!) which you then plant. Each school records the date the bulbs
flower.
- How long does it take for the Spring to arrive?Record when you see Summer Migrants
(swallow, swift, cuckoo and red admiral butterfly) and let us know . We hope to be able to
map the progress of swallows across Europe from their wintering grounds .
- Tell us when you hear the cuckoo so we can follow it's journey from it's wintering
grounds.
If you would like to join in the fun then please e-mail us and we will send you your
pack of free bulbs. |
